- Lymphangitis
- SYMPTOMS. There is usually high fever, chills, headache, swelling of the
- lymph node, general aching and malaise.
- CAUSES. Lymphangitis is an inflammation of the lymph channels. It is
- usually caused by staph or strep bacteria. There may be irregular pink,
- tender streaks that extend up the arm or leg to the lymph nodes in the
- underarm or groin as the infection spreads.
- TREATMENT. Antibiotic therapy is usually prescribed for the infection.
- .If the case is severe, you will probably require bed rest and elevation of
- the affected area.
